چکیده

Look-ahead SAT solvers are the most suitable to solve random k-SAT formulas. Based on the DPLL framework, they use branching heuristics. We generalise the application of the efficient recursive weight heuristic for k-SAT problems. The heuristic and an efficient implementation are presented in this paper. Parameter tuning is performed providing experimental results. Further experiments demonstrate the improvement of the performance of the heuristic extending march, the strongest complete solver on random k-SAT formulae as shown by the results of SAT 2009 competition.

Degrees in $k$-minimal label random recursive trees

This article describes the limiting distribution of the degrees of nodes has been derived for a kind of random tree named k-minimal label random recursive tree, as the size of the tree goes to infinity. The outdegree of the tree is equal to the number of customers in a pyramid marketing agency immediatly alluring

Local search for Boolean Satisfiability with configuration checking and subscore

This paper presents and analyzes two new efficient local search strategies for the Boolean Satisfiability (SAT) problem. We start by proposing a local search strategy called configuration checking (CC) for SAT. The CC strategy results in a simple local search algorithm for SAT called Swcc, which shows promising experimental results on random 3-SAT instances, and outperforms TNM, the winner of S...

Theoretical analysis of optimization problems - Some properties of random k-SAT and k-XORSAT

This thesis is divided in two parts. The first presents an overview of known results in statistical mechanics of disordered systems and its approach to random combinatorial optimization problems. The second part is a discussion of two original results. The first result concerns DPLL heuristics for random k-XORSAT, which is equivalent to the diluted Ising p-spin model. It is well known that DPLL...

Branches in random recursive k-ary trees

In this paper, using generalized {polya} urn models we find the expected value of the size of a branch in recursive $k$-ary trees. We also find the expectation of the number of nodes of a given outdegree in a branch of such trees.

Symbiosis of Search and Heuristics for Random 3-SAT

When combined properly, search techniques can reveal the full potential of sophisticated branching heuristics. We demonstrate this observation on the well-known class of random 3-SAT formulae. First, a new branching heuristic is presented, which generalizes existing work on this class. Much smaller search trees can be constructed by using this heuristic. Second, we introduce a variant of discre...
